Pulse Finds The Faces They Want

Sunday night's Caribbean Model Search (CMS) celebrated not only the talent of young Jamaican models, but also the return of Miss Universe first place runner-up Yendi Phillipps. Phillipps would initially watch the showcase that included Male Face of Jamaica, Petite Jamaica Fashion Model Competition, Full-figured model competition and the Jamaican Fashion model competition, before eyes would turn to her as she made a runway appearance.

A standing ovation was more than fitting as Phillipps showcased a design by Jaejolly.

Applause and cheers erupted as she made her first runway appearance since returning from Las Vegas more than two weeks ago.

Emprezz Mullings, host of the evening, was taken with the audience's response that she asked Phillipps for an encore.

However, Phillipps wasn't the only starlet of the night as R&B singer Shontelle delivered a very powerful set.

Taking to the runway casually dressed, she showcased her vocal ability with her hit songs T-shirt and Impossible and her new single Perfect Nightmare.

Shontelle had the audience swaying side to side and singing along.

Earlier in the night dressed in a Pablo Palair design, Angele Smith, a former Digicel Rising Star contestant also performed.

Downhill set

First, to Usher's OMG then two songs from his repertoire, were palatable. But Smith's set went downhill when he made an attempt at singing NeYo's Closer. The audience wasn't having it.

The fashion segment of the show had 100 girls parading in swimsuits by The Mushroom.

Later, the girls would return to showcase designs by Minka, Mutamba, Heather Lane, See me yah and Jaejolly.

Barry Moncrieffe's collection was a standout, as it highlighted the best in both male and female trends.

There was something for somewhat larger women as the Full Figured Fashion Model got off to a start.

The ladies dressed in fashions from Kerry Kays - the audience was happy.

Keneea Linton and Drennaluna also showcased on the CMS stage.

In the end, the Top 35 girls were announced in the Petite Jamaica Fashion Model section. Lara George was the night's winner.

Tara Wright was crowned as the new Full-figured Model winner.

Having lots to choose from, the ladies in the audience were at odds as to who was to become the next Male Face of Jamaica. The audience was still not sure about the eventual winner, Seth Verley.

Hanna-Kay Lettman is the Jamaica Fashion Model winner.

At the end of the night the patrons were entertained from start to finish, and despite the difference of opinions in regard to the winners the competition ended on a positive note.
